Vegan's Chronicles

The Great Green Grill

Hey Guys,
I was recently informed by a reader here about 'Great Green Grill', a vegetarian & vegan food party next Saturday @ Itaewon!! I soooo wish I could be there to support this awesome event! Unfortunately, I shall be at the airport, catching my plane to the Philippines for vacation~ (suuuper excited!) But I hope that all of you guys attend and get your vegan grub on. I hear there's gonna be vegan brownies... . :) Here's a copy of the event blurb from the Facebook page:

"Vegetarian? Vegan? Hungry? Like donating money to good causes? If your answer is "yes," or even "maybe," to any the questions above, you should come to Seoulstyle’s Vegetarian BBQ at Roofers Rooftop restaurant on Saturday, May 1st at 6:30pm.

Why? Other than the fact that the food - from vegan pasta to the Hearty BurgUrsa, a delicious vegan hamburger - is going to be incredibly tasty, proceeds are going to animal charities, and it will be an all-around fun night, there is at least one other really good reason to come:

It's a fairly regularly made joke to tell someone that you'll meet them "at the Buy-the-Way, next to the Kimbap Chun-guk, under the anma, around the corner from the PC room." The exaggeration of the uniformity of certain things in Seoul is only slight. However, if it's variety you're looking for, you may be left wanting. Vegetarian restaurants are scarce in Seoul, and vegan food is nigh on nonexistent.

Still, probably everyone knows a vegetarian - they're the people who eat all the pancheon as a meal at samgyeopssal night or are absent from the after work fried chicken/beer run. Roofer's Vegetarian/Vegan BBQ is a chance to demonstrate to the Seoul community that variety can very literally be the spice of life. It's not just another night out - think of it as a bit of variety in your day with the added bonus of proceeds going to help our furry friends you can find more information at Seoulstyle.com."
